History

John Palmer Trucking began in 1928 as a one truck company owned by John Palmer, who operated a small office and storage area on Bradford Street in West Concord, Massachusetts. When John retired in 1971, his brother Lennie and his nephew Craig, former company employees, bought the business. In 1978, Lennie's other son Nate, an engineer from California, joined the company partnership. By 1979, the Palmers had built a new warehouse at 55 Domino Drive in West Concord, Massachusetts. This is when they incorporated and became John Palmer Moving and Storage, Inc.

In 1980 the company continued to expand. A second warehouse in Acton, Massachusetts was bought, and then later additional storage space was built to bring their total to 43,625 square feet of space. The two buildings have sprinkler and alarm systems throughout. Household and office furniture, as well as high-tech equipment are stored in these facilities.

In 1981, the Palmer's became an agent for American Red Ball Transit Company, winning numerous awards for their long distance service. It was at this time that Craig and Nate organized and developed a sales department. Then in 1985, the company left Red Ball to join Atlas Van Lines.

On July 1, 1987, because of a need for space, the Palmer's moved their office staff from Concord to their building on 7 Craig Road in Acton.

Today, John Palmer Moving & Storage, Inc. not only stores furniture and equipment, but moves household and businesses locally. With the ATLAS affiliation, John Palmer Moving handles office and household moves all over the world. The staff has extensive experience in the moving industry; some have been involved for over 20 years. They take pride in their work which is recognized in recommendations of satisfied customers. The company is still small enough, through sixty years of experience, to offer the professionalism and expertise that the customer deserves.
